December 2002 - John Burton's 2001 Alaskan Camaro Convertible (Kidinthehall2001)

About 6 months ago I was thinking of an excuse to get away from the house for a little bit, so I told the wife I had to go pick up an air filter for the car, and I jumped in my first Camaro and went out cruising. I was driving down the road and I looked over at the local Ford dealer and saw this car sitting there like it had for the past 5 months. I always wanted a convertible, but the price was way too high. They where asking $25k for it, so I never went in to buy it. Well since I was blowing time, I stopped to see how the convertible was set up compared to my coupe. I stopped and was looking at it, when a "shark" stopped by and started trying to sell it to me. I played like I was interested, and he went to go get the key. He came back and gave me the key, I got in it started it up, and began to check everything out. I was unlatching the top to see how the top went down, when I looked at the top of the windshield and saw that they had lowered the price to $19k. I gave it one or two revs and I told them "I'll take it!". With some sweet talking to the wife and a dozen roses later I owned it.

It seems a whole lot faster than my coupe was, I credit that to the 3.42 gears, and my limited experience driving a stick, which my first one was. I haven't really done to much to it. Except for the Free Ram Air mod and a Stage 2 Jet chip, it's all stock... for now.
